about

'Hymne à l'amour', one of the most refined French songs, written in 1950 by Edith Piaf after the tragic loss of boxer Marcel Cerdan on Air France flight 009 accident.
Music by Marguerite Monnot, in this stunning classical guitar arrangement by Roland Dyens (Tunisi, 19 Oct 1955 – Paris, 29 Oct 2016).
I will forever remember the day, four years ago from the release of this track, when I found out about the departure of one of the finest guitarists and arrangers of our time. It was a rainy day with the typical London grey weather, and I felt sad for missing the opportunity in my life of listening live to such a wonderful musician.

So four years later, here's a humble redemption of one of his works.

Guitar: Koyla Panhuyzen 2004
Strings: D'Addario and Co.
Microphones: Oktava MK012

Recorded in Oct 2020 in my new little studio in Padova.
(a little bit messy, there's no light, but I just moved in).

I do not sing in this track, but I had these lyrics in mind while recording:

Mon amour puisque tu m'aimes
Mon amour crois-tu qu'on s'aime?
Dieu réunit ceux qui s'aiment'
